DJDeeds, Thanks for the fast reply. I have submitted several times but did so under the false impression that my site had not been approved. I saw where my site had been visited and then no listing occurred. And that was some time ago (possibly as much as 6 months ago).

So I improved the application fields and tried again. I'm sure you get this next question a million times, but hopefully you'll help me out. I'm brand new to this forum thing and haven't had time yet to read a whole lot.

My question is what do I do now?

Thanks again for any help you can give.

Multiple submittals to the same category aren't a big deal. Submittals to lots of different categories puts a site into "whack-a-mole" mode, where editors just try to get down to one submittal (which would presumably be moved to the best category for review.)

Once you get into that mode, it is much more likely that ALL submittals (rather than "all minus one") will have accidentally gotten whacked; it is also much more likely that any new submittal, if not in the exact category where the last surviving submittal lurked, will cause a new round of mole-whacking.

This isn't editor revenge for violating arbitrary regulations, it is the inevitable result of ignoring the reality of projectwork, as well as the guide to it commonly known as the submittal policies. I simply do not know what advice to give. The best bet might be to try one single submittal, NOT to the category mentioned above, but in a more appropriate and more specific category, and ask for a status on THAT submittal in six months.

Hutcheson,

I've been a programmer for 20 years. I cut my teeth on Tandy Radio Shack Model I,II,III etc. Back when I wrote many many lines of assembler code and all that happened on the screen was the curser moved, which was what I was trying to get it to do.

I said that to say this, I've never heard of mole-whacked before your post. But acronyms and slang rise and fall in the cyberworld faster than Bill Gates stock portfolio.

Anyway, thanks for the informational post. I guess I have to keep waiting. Something I've been doing for quite awhile now. If you happen to have any other words of wisdom, I would appreciate the post.

Regards

It's the difference between ROR and LSR.

ROR - the site stays somewhere but moves around from category to category.

LSR [whack a mole] - the site gets deleted from one categroy then the next, until there is nothing left.

I don't understand then I guess because I submitted to the same category every time. I got the category by searching for other sites of like business and found all their links in this category. So I think I have the right category.

Is there any way that anyone tell me where exactly my submission is now so I can rectify the problem?

If someone can just tell what I should do now I will be glad to do it. Is my site currently in the pool to be reviewed or has it been reviewed and accepted or rejected? Any kind of help will really be appreciated.

I know that you folks have to deal with this stough every day and I apologize for perhaps sounding like a million other threads you have to read. I am simply faced with a problem that I cannot solve because I lack the appropriate information to remedy it.

Regards

Wow. Thanks so much for taking the time to look. :)

I know I should know the answer to this but what does waiting mean? Waiting to be reviewed yet? Waiting to be accepted/rejected?

Again, your help is so appreciated. Looking forward to your response when you get the chance.

Many regards.

Status a bit early perhaps?

I know that I'm not supposed to ask for the status of my site until May 18th. But it has been since December 16 since my last visit here. Is it possible that someone might give me an early status report on www.SavannahsTreasures.com before the 6 month period?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Also, would anyone advise resubmitting?

"just about" is not good enough.
We don't have these guidelines just for fun.

You have been told to wait twice before. I think it is time for some punishment for someone so stubborn. Add one extra month before asking for status. Next status date is now 17 June 2005
