I don't quite understand the comment. I am an editor but was unable to find a way to "look for yourself" for a category I'm not editing. Did I miss something obvious?

As an editor, you can track the further status of your submission yourself. You have added the site to your bookmarks. Access your bookmarks from your dashboard, click on "edit" and scroll down to see whether anything happens. (Nothing until now.)

Yes, you can see everything that happens, even though you can't see the current state (but the current state is generally obvious, given where it started out.)
