status of www.sissel-online.com

I can't remember what catories we have submitted to, but we have tried numerous times (probably http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/ and http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/Fitness/Equipment/) and we never seem to get approved. www.sissel-online.com is a very reputable site and has been around for over 5 years ... the only reason I can think that we are not being accepted is that our competitor is an editor ... i know this is a bold statement, but it's the only one that seems to make sense.

Sure, the editor is your competitor. All the editors are your competitors!

Of course, you've done nothing wrong and can't imagine why you are not listed:

Misappropriate submission moved from Health/Fitness/Advice_and_Guides
Listed in Shopping/Sports/Fitness/Equipment
Duplicate submission deleted from Shopping/Sports/Fitness/Equipment
Mirror site found http://www.sissel-shop-usa.com, URL changed to that and moved back into the submission pool at Shopping/Sports/Fitness
Duplicate submission moved from Shopping/Sports/Fitness/Equipment to Shopping/Sports/Fitness/ whre it was eventually deleted.

Almost anything you do that you perceive as "TRYING to GET listed" -- is (from our perspective) vicious spam.

Almost anything you do that you perceive as "trying to HELP editors" is likely to be seen (from our perspective) as trying to help.

Submitting once, like the policy says, is helping. TRYING is spamming. And, once the editors have to go into "whack-a-mole mode" on a site's submittals, it is hard to tell whether there's still a mole alive in the tunnels ... whether we want to leave one alive or not.

As it happens, this time a submittal is still waiting review in the second category you mention. Please start following the forum posting and directory submittal policies--it will not disadvantage you.

I appologize. The only thing that we have done is re-submit every 6-8 months to try and get listed starting back about 4 years ago. We have only tried submitting in different categories (but never at the same time) the last couple years because of the lack of success.

And, i have only recently been referred to this forum from the Search Engine Watch site and haven't had a time to go through it all.

I appologize again for my rudeness as I was not meaning to be offensive to you guys ... more just venting frustration.
