I submitted smart-wizard to UK>Bus & Economy>Shopping>tools>vehicle repairs

I submitted sussexclassiccar.co.uk to shopping>vehicles>autos>custom & collection>antique&classic>parts & accessories

For Crazyteeth.co.uk, this was submitted to UK>Bus & Economy>Shopping>toys& games>novelty/teeth

Also I submitted smartdent.co.uk to Recreation>Autos>Repair Body> on the 5/5/03.

Well,

smartwizard is awaiting review and will most likely be moved to the appropriate UK category when reviewed as it is UK specific and doesn't qualify for shopping.

sussesclassiccars is awaiting review along with 120 others.

crazyteeth has been rejected for lack of unique content.

smartdent is waiting and will also most likely be moved to a more appropriate category. This category is for "informational" sites only.

Afraid that by not submitting to the most appropriate category, it will delay the amount of time to be reviewed and listed. :( Suggest asking again in 3-4 months.

Doesn't http://www.smartwise.com/ encompass all or most of the products on these other sites?

Some remarks:
1. www.smart-wizard.com seems to be relevant to a regional/local level only.
2. www.Sussexclassiccar.co.uk has a physical address and a 'brick and mortar' store, and can also be submitted to the Regional/UK subcategory where it is located.
3. same for www.smartdent.co.uk, they also seem to have a physical address and can be submitted to the Regional/UK subcategory where they are located.

Thanks for the update. Is it the case that sites are taking much longer to be listed these days?

If a site has very similar content to another site listed in the same category in dmoz, is that grounds for rejection?

When you say the site "will most likely be moved to another category.." can you tell me what the likely odds are of it still being rejected or should I have no worries on that score?

Sites are taking longer only in categories not frequented by a hoard of editors. What we need is more dedicated editors.

Not necessarily, but a good chance. Especially if the sites are related in some way.

Having to move a site to the correct category should not have any bearing on whether or not it is rejected or listed.

Worrying about it is silly! You've done your job by submitting and have no control over it being rejected or accepted.

Both sites are waiting for review in those respective categories. As both of these areas are rather backlogged, I'd suggest waiting a couple months to check back. Sorry the news isn't better.

Sussexclassiccar.co.uk is currently awaiting review in the category with a large number of other site suggestions.

smartdent.co.uk is also currently awaiting review in the category you posted along with a large number of other site suggestions.

Due to the backlog in those categories I suggest you bookmark this thread and give a couple of extra months in between submission checks. If you do have to check back please reuse this thread.
