Hello, please let me know the status of http://www.triphub.com.

The site was submitted in June/July to:

http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Specialty_Travel/

I also sent an email to the category editor suggesting a new "group travel" sub-category for sites such as ours that focus on family reunions, weddings, religious groups, schools, teams and clubs.

I have not received any response to either submission/suggestion.

The site is not awaiting review in that category and it hasn't been touched by an editor. Are you sure that's the category you suggested it to?

Yes, I'm relatively confident the site was submitted to the Specialty Travel category however it is possible that it was submitted to the Travel Agent category (http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Travel_Agents/).

No, not there either.

You can wait -- we'll give you another status in six months, which will tell you more only if an editor has touched it, or you can resubmit (strongly recommend doing it to the right category, which would be the most specific Regional category that contains all the travel agent's offices, AND REMEMBER THE CATEGORY) and we'll give you another status in a month (based on the assumption that the original submittal was lost, and giving you the benefit of the doubt).

Your choice. Bump this thread as appropriate.

Thank you for your response. I went to re-submit www.triphub.com to http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Specialty_Travel/ and see that there is not currently an option to submit a site here (although several sites are listed on this page).

As a service focused on leisure group travel (which addresses many of the sub-categories within Specialty Travel - the difference being our focus on groups v. individual travelers) there is not another obvious place to submit our site. I have sent email to the category editor proposing a new sub-category for sites such as ours that specialize in group travel. In the meantime, what do you recommend?

We do not advise editors to get into dialogues with site owners.

Please submit all sites to a more specific category.
Travel agents, tour operators, transportation companies, and other businesses which do not have a specific and clear specialty will not be listed here.

[Editors may choose to move sites into this category, but we do not allow you to submit there]

And the recommendation given to you in post #5 was:

strongly recommend doing it to the right category, which would be the most specific Regional category that contains all the travel agent's offices

and we'll give you another status in a month

Because your website doesn't offer anything a user couldn't find on 1001 other websites.
