Well, it was a month since I asked - although it took a while longer for a response, so unless you need me to wait until a month from when I had a response, is there any change in my status?

Thanks.

I don't know who visited your site from the category, but quite possibly it was me when I did the status check. I don't do a lot of editing in Arts, so I'm not likely to be the one who eventually reviews your site.

Your last status check was 05-04-2004 - so you are a bit too early for another one.

That was my last status check, 05 - 04 - 2004. That's May 4th isn't it? We have the dates the other way round in the UK, so it would be April 5th to us.

I'm still 2 days early though.

I'm turning into Gollum here, "So JakeCop, what are the chances of a status update then?"

"oooh, so you wants a status update dos you?"

"well, yeah... that would be great"

"think I've got time for that dos you? I's very busy I's is"

"I appreciate that, but we'd till like a status update if it's at all possible"

"we'd all like a status update mys precious"

er, "Affiliate Links, Sites Consisting Mostly of Affiliate Links, Affiliate Reseller Sites (aka Fraternal Mirrors), and Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Independent Representative sites."

I think some clarification is in order with your editors, sites with original content that have an affiliate link are allowed - sites that exist purely to generate revenue and/or are mirrors are not.

Also, I just checked all of the sites in that category and of the ones that actually work they all have either Amazon or Adsense or both.

None have the level of orginal content WhatDVD has.

We don't pore through all the pages looking for the nuggets. We expect the site navigation to point us there. If you have "parallel" entries in your index, we'll check one or two. If they have nothing, we won't go any further. (That's what I just did, and as a result I'd have unhesitatingly rejected the site also.)

If you don't want us to pick pages at random, you need to make the navigation for those pages that actually HAVE content more prominent.

This might mean that some sites lucked out and got in by chance -- the editor happened to hit their only serious review. It also means that some sites busted, as the editor hit their only two empty pages. But of course -- part of "significant unique information" is informing people about what's actually on the site, not what someone thinks might be on the site some day.

Are we talking about the same site? There are over 400 unique reviews, and several dozen features, interviews, news items and press releases.

www.whatdvd.net yeah?

I dunno. The site I visited certainly has movie pages with no reviews at all, unique or not. And it wasn't at all hard to find them.

I'm sorry, but this is kind of hard to believe. There are 15 examples on the front page of the text 'Read Review', taking you to a movie page that has at least 1 review on it. There is no way you are unable to find that.

My site is being penalised for having no content, when it has hundreds of reviews, split by genre. If you are refusing my site on these grounds I can only asume there's misuse or incompetance on your part.
