It's been more then a few months since I have submit my site (www.zenblems.com) into:
http://dmoz.org/Shopping/General_Merchandise/Novelties/

I do not want to resubmit until I know that my original submition was definitely lost or rejected. I know that multiple submitions will get me booted off of dmoz. So could someone tell me if my site is still in queue or will it be ok to resubmit it.

Thanks
Jason Morris

General Merchandise and its subcats are huge spam targets so as a result all are quite backlogged. There are several hundred sites pending in that category. There is no need to submit again. I would give it a few more months and try back again in this same thread after that if you still don't see it listed.

If you've only submitted once, it's OK to resubmit. So say the submittal policies. But ... only once? Never submitted to Shopping/General_Merchandise? Well, that wouldn't have been a particularly good choice anyway. Or to Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Shopping ? Anyway, it's now waiting in Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Shopping , which looks to me like a good place, as well as in the category you mentioned.

Three times more site submittals than products? Not cool. You've got a (unique) product, perhaps, but those categories are all heavily backlogged. Give the editors time, and maybe add some more products while you're waiting.

I didn't look at the site itself, I agree with hutcheson--it doesn't belong under general novelties. I deleted that submission as being appropriately in the works under Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Shopping.

That's good advice, but I have 12 other up and coming products that have nothing to do with Christianity. My main focus will be on Chinese Calligraphy, I didn't want to "pigeon hole" myself into only one category. However, I'm sure you know more about this index then I, your advice will be taken.

Thanks

We list sites based on their content (not on promises ;) ) -- if the content on your site changes significantly after your site is listed, you can post an "update URL" request asking to be moved to a cat that's appropriate to your site's content at that time.

... and if your plans pan out, then an "Update Request" would certainly be reasonable.
