Hello:

We submitted to: Regional: North America: United States: Georgia: Localities: A: Atlanta: Society and Culture
on 4/15/03

We recently also submitted to: http://www.dmoz.org/Society/Relationships/Dating/Advice/
on 5/10/03.

We are hoping this is not viewed as spamming the directory. Isn't it OK to have a regional listing and a category listing?

Thanks for your help.

I don't see any local significance to the site, so submitting it to ANY locality would be spamming.

Addressing the more general question, about which there is a great deal of confusion, having two listings is not necessarily all right -- even having one listing may be spam.

No, that is a misunderstanding of the guidelines. The first and most important submittal guideline is: "NO set is guaranteed even ONE listing."

Now, a site WITH SPECIFIC REGIONAL INTEREST (which does NOT apply to this site) may reasonably be CONSIDERED for (which is not the same as "receive") a regional listing. A site WITHOUT specific geographic interest, submitted to a local category, is spam. This is spam.

I will defer to those who are more aware of what might constitute "unique content" in the topical category. But it seems to invite being labelled as an "affiliate banner farm" -- and if that is a fair characterization rather than a hasty judgment, then that submittal would also be considered spam.
