May I please have the status of http://www.cocktaildb.com/ which was submitted once and only once to
http://www.dmoz.com/Home/Cooking/Beverages/Collections_and_Indexes/
on 11/15/04?

It is not pending review in that category. It was last reviewed in 2003 at which time it was just a sign in page. If that is the most appropriate category, please resubmit.

Actually, I'm amazed anyone even TRIED to submit it in 2003. It was an alpha site that fluctuated features and characteristics day to day as we built what is now up and 'ready for primetime.'

As you say, I will resubmit. I am curious, though - having carefully submitted it a month ago - and having every visual indication that the submission was successful, what seems to be happening to these "lost" submissions that crop up daily? System transient? Sort of odd not being able to know....

Actually, as a cocktail database, http://dmoz.org/Home/Cooking/Beverages/Cocktails/Collections_and_Indexes would have been the right place for you to have submitted and, oh look, it appears that's where you did indeed submit it (it's still waiting there for review).

This is why it is really important that people be accurate about where they submitted -- we can't give you an accurate status if you give us the wrong category.

And here I thought I was soooo DMOZ savvy. Apologies, Motsa - I don't want to make you great folks work one minute harder because of my inattention to detail. Now, based on kokopeli's advice I DID just resubmit, and I fear this time I did in fact erroneously submit to the more generalized category. I hope an editor or meta will simply punt that submission (with my renewed apologies) in favor of the more correct specific one.

Now, one final non-status question if I may: I realize suggestions like my site simply go into a categorical "hopper" to be reviewed in no particular order. I am curious how many other sites are in my specific hopper with me (that being the Motsa-corrected hopper.) I am NOT asking based on any belief that a quoted number may foretell review time. I know it will not. I ask only out of intellectual curiousity as to how many sites would LIKE to be listed under this, my category of choice.

We don't give out concrete (or even vague, for that matter) numbers for waiting suggestions like that. Sorry.
