The submission has arrived, but was caught in our inbound filter. See this thread letter B for some more information.

Thanks for the reply Windharp.

I have been awaiting review for close to six months. Does this mean I'll be moved to the bottom of the list again?

Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

There is no bottom of the list, editors can edit in any order they choose. If they do choose to edit in order of submission date, the date your submission was submitted by you is still the date that will show up on that submission regardless of it being moved from the holding area to where you submitted to in the first place.

Hello,

I was just dropping in to re-check the status of my submission. Is there any news? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

Could you update me on the status of my site? I'd greatly appreciate it.

99% of the sites listed in this category are affiliate sites. Almost all of them post affiliate links and earn compensation from doing so. Is there an editor I can appeal to? Because if these rules are strictly enforced there is a lot of 'house cleaning' to do in this category.

Sorry but I am just the messenger. I don't edit in that area of the directory.

My apologies. I realize you're just trying to help. I was unable to find a means of contacting the editor in this category. Perhaps you know where I can reach him/her? I'd appreciate it - you've been very patient with me.

All the best,

Adam Buhler

That particular category does need to be cleaned up; possibly removed completely. Much of it was put together before the current and more stringent guidelines where in place. I'm sure in the larger reorganizing and clean-up of Web Design and Development, that category is somewhere on the list, but if it isn't, it'll be on my list of categories to look at eventually.

Either way, it is unlikely we will be add more non-guideline compliant sites to this category even if there are sites in there that should be removed. My advice would be, instead of spending energy on the ODP, look into other ways to promote your site. Many sites achieve success without a listing at dmoz.org.

I should add, unofficially, that if there are some sites which are not affiliate sites (under ODP definitions), but most are affiliate sites, editors might appreciate an insider's view as to a list of the ones that are affiliate sites.

You should report them as indicated in the Abuse Reporting forum.
