Status request for morons.org

Background: http://web.morons.org/ used to be in http://www.dmoz.org/News/Magazines_and_E-zines/E-zines/ but was removed because of a missing-citations problem where some dmoz data was used. That problem was corrected once it was brought to our attention (see http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19588 ) and the site was sent back to News/Magazines_and_E-zines/E-zines for review a little over a month ago.

I have two requests if I may: the first is just a general status inquiry on the review.

Second, I think http://www.dmoz.org/News/Alternative/ is a better category as there are several sites in this category which are similar in nature to morons.org. I don't want to submit to that category, however, without the blessing of dmoz, lest I appear to be spamming submissions. I'd like advice on how best to proceed.

I know you're all very busy, and I thank you for your time.

The review is still pending: if you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 28 February.

Submitting to [cat=News/Alternative]News: Alternative[/cat] I think would be alright, based on the history of the site.

Just for clarification, could I submit to News: Alternative now, or should I wait until 28 February?

No, you may submit now. The wait is only for asking about the status of the site again.

I would like to inquire as to the status of my submission to News/Alternative from July of last year.

As noted elsewhere in this thread, my site (http://web.morons.org/) was originally listed in News/Magazines and Ezines/Ezines, then removed because of a problem with how we used some dmoz data, and later re-submitted after the problem was corrected. I asked permission first and then submitted the site to News/Alternative, as I felt this would be a better category for the site (since there were several similar sites listed in the same category).

So it is the News/Alternative category for which I request status; if we can get into that category, I'm happy to abandon News/Magazines and Ezines/Ezines entirely (it's also too early to request status in that category again).

Please let me know if there are any questions, and I thank you for your time.

On 8/27 you were advised:

The review is still pending: if you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 28 February.

See you then.

I assumed that was regarding the submission to News/Magazines and Ezines/Ezines (Feb 28 would be 6 months after that initial status request), not News/Alternative, for which I've not requested status in the past.

Sorry if that wasn't clear. I know it's confusing with the parallel requests. It was not my intention to ask about the News/Magazines and Ezines/Ezines request but the (relatively) new News/Alternative request. I'm just quite late following up (it's been way more than a month, obviously).

6-month status check for morons.org

Now that it's been 6 months since the last status check, I'd like to please inquire as to the status of the submission to News/Alternative.

The history and details behind this submission can be found earlier in this same thread. Please let me know if there's any more information I can provide.

Thanks in advance for your time,

---Nick

I think that you'll just have to wait, sorry. There's a lot of submissions in both categories. Feel free to come back to this thread after six more months.

Very well. Thank you again for checking on it for me. I understand that all the editors' time is valuable, and I really do appreciate it.
