Status request for www.HAGG-markiert.com

Hi,

I have submitted a website about 2 Month ago.

HAGG-markiert

It went into this category:
http://dmoz.org/World/Deutsch/Wirtschaft/Marketing_und_Werbung/

Please, provide me with some info about the current submission status.

Since one of my submissions failed to get into your database I'm not sure about my other entries as they are also awaiting response since a little while.

Apart I always had problems with loading the dmoz website on my end. It seems to be under heavy load most of the times and page transfers very often break up in the middle. This also happened when submitting the forms. I don't know if this is normal.

Your site is not waiting for review in that category, and it doesn't seem that a submission of it ever was there. You may resubmit.

I must warn you though that it might be a long wait until your site will be reviewed. This category is really backlogged with hundreds of sites waiting for review. There is a lack of volunteer editors willing to work on a nice small category like, for example, "Brand Marketing".

We know that our server http://dmoz.org/ is often very slow. You may use the mirror http://ch.dmoz.org/ which is much faster. However submissions etc. are only processed by the main server. If you get a timeout, the only thing you can do is try again. Hopefully the hardware will be upgraded soon.

Note that there is also a German language forum, if you prefer to write in German.

Hi,

actually I signed up as an editor for this category myself.
This was 3 Month ago, but the site went down when I submitted the form. <img src="/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />
I was frustrated and didn't wanted to do it all over again apart from the fear that this system would always behave like this even when having access to the backend.

I have found another matching category that has an editor right there. Probably you want to give me feedback if this is the right place and strategy to be listed within a resonable time.

I think I will sign up the site HAGG-markiert here:

Hi,

Yes, I would apply again for that category, but I wonder if you also have to fight the network congestions when you want to edit sites.

Do you think I should apply? How does it work to begin a new category and apply as an editor for it in the same time? Please give me some insight..

The easiest way would be to apply for the category where you think the new category should be placed and suggest that the new category should be created. Maybe give a link to this thread, too.

No, thank goodness, or some of us with shorter attention spans would NEVER get any editing done.

The current stop-gap approach to the bandwidth problem includes reserving a "substantial" number of connections for editors only, and giving them very good response (well under 5% timeouts).

We do sympathize with legitimate site submitters (who are after all helping us!) -- but, of course, not enough to share that bandwidth. We do and hope the new hardware on order will help you all.
