Also it would be good to have a link to the psoting guidelines in the welcome email that is sent when you join the forums.

PS. I have also applied to be an editor for the liguria region, so I may be able to deal with this myself soon. A 6 month waiting period indicates that you need help :)

The submittal in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Italy/Regions/Liguria/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Vacation_Rentals/ in favor of the first category named, where a submittal for the ORIGINAL URL is waiting.

You can, you know, check here in six months if you haven't seen a listing appear. But note -- that six months is for THIS FORUM, not for the main directory. It is an irrelevant statistic.

Even if it had something to do with the directory, it would still be an irrelevant statistic. We don't care how long it takes after a submittal for a site to be reviewed, because a submittal says nothing about whether there IS a site to be reviewed, which is all WE care about. If the site exists, then we'd like to review it -- whether or not it's been submitted. If the site doesn't exist, we don't want to review it -- whether or not it has been submitted. But number of unreviewed submittals, delay reviewing submittals -- those are irrelevant.

If you can find sites to list using whatever tools are available (even without submittals) -- then yes, we evidently need your help. And if you are willing to get over an obsession with submittal dates and focus on building the directory by all means possible -- then yes, we probably want your help. But Liguria is too large an area to start with. How about Castelbianco? That might be small; Liguria/Localities may be a bit too large; Liguria/Travel&Tourism is too viciously spammed.

OK - I agree that the six months figure is mostly meaningless - but I still want to help and I have been approved as an editor for Liguria. Which even though it is a big area has less that 100 english language sites listed. My italian is not good enough yet to attempt non-english sites.

I have lots of new guidelines to read and plenty of other sites that I think should be listed. The I'll get around to looking at my own site, so I guess this thread can be considered closed.

cheers

Oh - I just noticed that I've only been accepted as an editor for the castelbianco locality. Well that is going to be pretty easy as it is a pretty small place. But then we do have 3 or 4 web sites about the place, so I will put those in good order and then ask for more rights.

cheers
