BTW I had started this thread. But it seemd like it had changed somewhat.
The actual OP is not even known to us???

Editors can sort the unreviewed in many different ways so your place in the queue will change dependent on that sort setting. Also, the way that I find sites in the queue is using a power tool that allows me to search on the url. Since the default sort does not show the url and there are so many unreviewed in the queue it is too time consuming to try and hunt down your site in that view. So you are somewhere in there. Just don't resubmit the site because it will overwrite your previous submission and knock you to the bottom of the list if an editor sorts by submission date. Good Luck!

Yes, there is no listed editor in the category. However, the question I think you are really asking is whether anyone can actually edit in the category. No category in the ODP is without an editor. Any editor listed higher in the branch may edit in the category (in this case, the listed editors in http://dmoz.org/Computers/ and http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/ ), and there are more than 200 editors with editall or meta permissions, which means they may edit in any category.

Thanks for checking.
Just wanted to make sure I was looking in the right place.
I had assumed that the editor above had been taking care of the cat, as the last touched date was Nov 5th.

In looking for more insight as to who edits this category. Is there nothing more than looks at the bottom of the cat?
Or is there a more detiled palce?

I see reference to other details, such as, number of edits, etc.. but am unable to find such information.

Just curious as to how the cat is going. :)

As a submitter you do not have access to any of that kind of information and we do not provide that type of information. The only thing you can do in your current situation is see the listed editors above in the directory tree and know that those editors do have access to the category as well as 200+ editall and higher editors.

True. But it would be irrelevant anyway. "Past performance is no predictor of future edits," as the financial soothsayers say. An editall may ask "where do I want to edit today" and skip right past your category to go search in Google for more real estate agents to add to Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Retchastershire/Hither_Sniggling instead. Or not. Your category editor might just have been expelled for idiocy, or driven off in a huff, or distracted by a new friend, or killed in a terrorist attack. Or even given a new category filled with fascinating sites to review.

Think of the project as a beehive. It's the most efficient method known to man for gathering pollen for honey (which is its job), but it's not all that effective at removing all pollen from the landscape. And you're asking when a particular orange blossom will be hit.

I was trying to kill a rumor that was passed along to me by two of the other sites that seem to be waiting in the same category (a competitor was the editor).

Seeing that there is not editor, that kills the current rumor. :)

Not a major rumor....

Just one that the editor of the cat was a small time competitor.
He only let in sites that offered no real competition.... And kept the larger sites out
Something about making their own site "cool"

I am sure you have all heard it a hundred times already. :)

You are right, we have heard rumors similar to those on many occasions, and they are rumors we take very seriously, because any editor doing so is guilty of abuse and subject to removal.

Glad to hear that they are taken seriously.
Might that not been the reason that the cat has no editor at the moment?

I do not expect an answer to that...... ;)

Heard that others had reported it, glad to see that maybe the system is working.

Hi all,

Once again looking for the status. Any help.

In noticing that the category is not very active at all, and we are looking at one year since submission, might it not be beneficial to submit to another category?
