Hello, David Goodale here again. As forum guidelines state, a month has passed since my last status update request.

I am optimistic that it may be listed soon because I have submitted to a small category with only a handful of links. I know that a 'medium amount of other suggestions' were mentioned in my last status request. I haven't seen any new sites added to that category in the last 2 months, and am wondering if the editor at the next highest level up category may take a look at it. (Since that category does not appear to have an editor).

In the forum guidelines, you will see the following statement: "Please note that posting in this forum will not lead to site listing in itself". All submissions are treated equally, regardless of how noisy or quiet the site owner is.

For the record, your site status has not changed.

Could I have an update on the submission please?

I'm just curious approxomitely how many other sites may be in the queue for this particular category.

I know the DMOZ editors are an overworked lot, so I'm not meaning to "make noise" to get my site approved. I'm simply curious what kind of backlog I'm working against.

While someone with appropriate permissions will no doubt give you your status, I want to clarify for you the mew forum rules: we no longer discuss the size of the submissions pool, as it has proven counterproductive (and is quite meaningless).

Thank you for your advice on submitting to the regional catagory. I do believe I will do that.

One quick question -- if I submit to a regional category, will it overwrite my existing submission to the main category? Or will it be in addition to my request for listing in the main category? I would like to also at some point be considered for the main category.

I want to make certain I understand the proper procedure.

You "main" submission and Regional are processed separately and generally by different editors. One will not affect the other.

And never call one category "main" and imply that a Regional category is somehow secondary when in the presence of any editors who primarily edit in Regional categories. Regional categories are way better than those silly topical categories :)

But of course :) I do live in the same Region as you :cool: but I never got to be an editor there :mad: so for me main is not Regional :p but if I ever got on the map, maybe it would be :)

Certainly didn't mean to step on anyone's toes by implying regional results are secondary... without regional categories DMOZ would be a mish-mash of far less accurate results!! :)

Actually bobrat if you look at my reply you will notice the [Re: dgoodale]. I was talking to dgoodale :)

And bobrat I'm still wondering why you never applied for a Toronto category again :confused:

I was thinking about applying to 97 other categories again myself :D Make him an editall and you will not have to worry about it again :shocked:
