Just looking to express concern over the way in which the category I have applied to is looking. Just noticed some general points from looking at them sites included:

http://jo-kat.com/tracks/ - Fails to load
http://catsndogs.c-double.com/modules.php?name=Forums - content = 10 posts.
http://www.mypetpalace.com/ - Fails to load
http://www.ourpetweb.com/modules/newbb/ - 62 total topics
http://pet-ex.ca/phpNet/index.php - Content = 17 posts total
http://www.hostultra.com/~petcentral/ - Been Hacked
http://petfreaks.com/main/modules/newbb/ - Fails to load


The category has been updated 3 times since I submitted so I guess my site has been rejected even though it offers alot more value that the ones above. Is there an official way to report poor editing of categories?

Don't worry, there is no reason to suspect that :) That a category has been edited does not mean that all, or any, of the sites suggested for review have been reviewed. On the other hand, suggested sites can be reviewed without it showing in the category.

If you suspect abuse, that is, that an editor has added or removed sites unfairly, or treated listed sites differently when describing them, you can use the form for reporting editorial abuse. (There is more about what does and doesn't constitute abuse here - not editing is not abuse, for instance.)

We are very grateful for reports about dead links or sites that have changed their content. There is a thread here for reporting those. Please tell us the listed title of the links as well as the URL. Thank you very much! {moz}

Quick couple of questions, firstly, is there enough editors in the pet category to cover the editing and submission of lower categories? If there isnt I am thinking of applying.

Secondly, If I was accepted is it ok just to edit the one category or would I be expected to edit others.

There's always room for more editors. If you apply, remember to read the description and submission notice of the category, subcategories (if any), parent categories, and related categories, in order to understand what goes there and what goes elsewhere.

In order to edit other categories, you have to apply, so it's OK to edit only the one category.

I believe this "papanatas" is a reincarnation of a member of this forum blocked for cause -- or possibly an editor removed for cause. In any case, take his comments with a grain (approximately 1 meter on a side) of salt.

I don't think I knew any of the metas before I joined, nor do I think any of them knew me. It's possible, I suppose, that some of them knew me from my other net activity, but I really don't know.

Me - I knew nothing about DMOZ when I applied, I was surprised I was accepted.
