That site was not listed in the indicated category because the reviewing editor found that the cabins offered already had their own listings.

Good morning,

We listed our 2 personal properties (Hillside Hideaway & Timberland Lodge) quite a while back as we bought each one.

As of 1/1/03 we have moved to Blue Ridge, GA full-time and started a property management company. (Premier Cabin Rentals of North Georgia) http://www.premiercabinrentals.com

Our 2 cabins are, of course, promoted on our company's page, but we also currently offer 4 add'l cabins which are owned by others and have 3 more planning to join us in late summer/early fall when they are complete. (They will not appear on our site until 4 weeks prior to the 1st rental availability) http://www.premiercabinrentals.com/cabins/cabins.html

We expect to have a total 15 cabins by the end of the year, and I'm proud to say that we have accomplished this just by word of mouth advertising.

The cabins owned by our customers do not have personal web addresses and appear only on our site so they are totally dependent on us for their rentals. And, as many of our customers come from outside the state, we are very web-dependent.

A couple of our more “web-savvy” cabin owners are quite irritated with me because I haven’t been able to get the company site listed on DMOZ. (Everybody knows that “if you ain’t on DMOZ, you ain’t on the web…”)

If our personal sites must be deleted in order to get our business site http://www.premiercabinrentals.com listed, I’m o-kay with that, but please, please, please don’t delete them until the new site is added or we will lose all of our web-customers and thus our current cabin owners.

You may want to consider resubmitting, including a note that you'd prefer the more inclusive of your sites listed rather than the more specific ones.

Listing the more inclusive URL seems like a good idea, and one of the sites has a link back to premiercabinrentals.com , which takes care of that part of the validation --- but premiercabinrentals.com seems to be down right now.

Two notes, which if addressed might help you get a better listing more quickly:
-- premiercabinrentals.com is down? at any rate, it doesn't respond to me.
--Your suggested site description tells what your company does (which is OK), but it doesn't say what the website contains (that is, what would a wannabe-tourist find there). The editor can write something up, but you might want to take your hand at it. My suggestion would be to try to keep the total description down to (say) 30 words -- that way, the editor would feel less of a compulsion to trim it. You can replace the existing submittal by just submitting the same URL to the same category , with your new description. [That would not be considered spam in this case.]

Question:

I did resubmit, but there was not enough room for a full explanation and I can't afford to our personal links deleted and not have our business link aded at the same time.

I gave a brief note that I need to provide more info in hopes that someone might see it & email me.

They have added 3 new sites, but not ours. Is there some where that I can send an e-mail to the person editing this category? I (and our customers) would love to get this fixed as soon as possible.

I appreciate any help/info/guidance!

You can send a message to any editor by clicking on their name at the bottom of the category. If you send them a friendly note, referring them to this thread here, then they will be able to very quickly get up to speed with the situation.

However, there is no way of making sure that what you are requesting actually happens; the editor will review the sites on their merits and decide which to list - we can not influence that in any way.

One of the big things is that sites get listed based on existing content, rather than promised future content. I would think that having some listings other than the two mentioned above would help your case....

Good morning,

That's where I run into the problem. There is no editor for the category, and when I hit the button it just opens up a page to tell you how to become an editor.

Except for our 2 personal cabins (which were listed long before we started the management company) all of the others will be maintained by us and will only be displayed on the Premier Cabin rentals page.

That's why our customers are upset. The way it is, it looks like we're promoting our cabins, but not theirs.
I'm trying to change it, but it's hard for them to understand the difficulty.

Sorry if I wasn't clear - you can send a message to an editor in ANY category by clicking on their name, and that includes the a category above the one where you submitted the site. Like I said, it won't ensure attention ahead of others, but you asked if you could contact anyone, and I am telling you how.

I understand your frustration, and we will try to do whatever you wish, as long as it makes the most sense to us. What we can not promise you is how quickly it will be addressed.

If your internet-savvy customers are giving you grief about the situation, might I suggest that you email them a link to this discussion forum, so that they can stay informed as to what is going on?

Thanks so much. I just sent a message to the 1st up-line editor I found.

I also appreciate your suggestion about providing our clients with the link. - Pure genious!

You have been of great help and I appreciate it more than you know.

I understand your concern, and (from a different direction) share it--we don't want our users deprived of reasonable content. (In fact, I was in the neighborhood intending to get all the changes done at once, when I ran into the "site down" problem.)
