Please inform me on the status of

http://www.vanessa-mae.nu

I submitted my website early November to the category of music, bands and artists under vanessa-mae, see the following link:

http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Bands_and_Artists/V/Vanessa-Mae/

Is there still any editor/moderator active for this category? Since it is already the second time that I submit my site. I think my website should be accepted in this category because it would represent one of the few sites there that is active and regularly updated.

Thanks

Rijko

The site is waiting review there.

Many active editors can edit there; most are also active in other categories.

Submitting a site multiple times doesn't raise its priority; it might possibly even lower it. (Usually it doesn't matter.)

Obviously we can't tell whether a site is active or regularly updated with one review. All we can tell is whether it contains unique content at the time, and that's what the decision would be based on.

It is 6 monthhs ago now since I submitted my website at:

http://www.vanessa-mae.nu

to the category below:

http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Bands_and_Artists/V/Vanessa-Mae/

Can anyone tell me about the status of this request? Is there any chance of getting my site listed at all? I've raed so many comments of disappointed members of this forum who have seen no result of their submitted sites, not even after many months to over a year or so.

I suppose you don't stand a chance of having your site accepted if you happen to be in a category that lacks an active editior.

Please comments and at least a prospect of having my site accepted.

I see my post slipping away to the second page. Even some posts made on April 30th still see no answers at all.

Once more an request for an update of the status of the site mentioned in this topic, see posts above!

Yes OK, I counted 6 from my submission date.

Anyway, reading the answers in other topics make me beleive that I know the answer already.

This forum is useless!! Standard answers and no real prospect for accepting periods.

I have no doubt that all editors/reviewers do the best they can, but I think DMOZ has to redefine its purpose, goals and methods.

Sorry, but reading all the threads here in this forum from members trying to gain info about their submission status makes me feel very sad and pesimistic about he possibillity to get my site listed here.

Anyway, perhaps I will try again later.

Many editors think so too. While you lot ask the questions, a few of us will continue to provide the answers, standard and otherwise, though. You get what we know, we can't give information we ourselves don't know.

I think DMOZ has to redefine its purpose, goals and methods.
We don't, we think submitters have to redefine what they believe DMOZ objectives are before they understand what they are dealing with. We aren't a commercial listing service, we're an "academic" project that happens to invite suggestions from the public. You want the other it exists as Yahoo et al.

If you have a site that stands head and shoulders above other sites in the same field, that is unique and rich in original content then one day you should be listed. If you don't then your pessimism is well founded. Many if not most people who use this forum present us with what we would describe as insufficient in content, or straightforward spam. Where the site has real merit then you will see editors regularly being very helpful and encouraging - though they still cannot provide information they don't know themselves. This forum will never ever help you get your site listed, only submitting it (as you have done) and making sure it is the best of the best will possibly help.

Some of us feel the same way.

Standard answers and no real prospect for accepting periods.

We can't predict when a site will be reviewed, and, when reviewed, whether it will be accepted. Some of the other information that people request in this forum could be given out, but most of it would help the spammers at the expense of the reasonable submitters. (I'm not speculating as to which category you fall in to, at this time.)

OK, fair enough. I'll maintain patience and keep my fingers crossed.

I do believe I have one of the best sites dealing with Vanessa-Mae with unique contents and it is regularly updated with the most recent information.
