I submitted my site (www.velvetsystems.com) to the following categories over 3 months ago and was wondering if / when we would get listed.

http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Australia/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Computers/

and

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Retailers/V/

I had previously submitted my site and after waiting more that 6 months without being listed, changed the category I was trying to get listed under. Its getting close to a year since I first submitted my site and I still have not been listed.
Am I doing something wrong.

I couldn't find a submission of your site to the Australia category, but a submission to the Computers/.../ category is awaiting review with less than a dozen others.

What I will say from the point of a web user was that I found the lack of a postal address or a 'contact us' page mildly unnerving, and I would think twice about ordering from a company that is afraid to say where it is. While this probably won't affect you in an ODP sense, it is something you may wish to add.

Thanks for the tip totalXSive. I have not put our address on the site because we operate out of a house. We don't want people turning up at the house expecting a shop front. I will put in a contact us page and include our PO Box. Would that give you any more confidence in ordering from our site?

Did you notice anything else that you didn't like on our site?

Any idea how long less than a dozen other might take?

Best Regards and thank you for your help,
Eugene Gorman

I would say by putting a P.O. box on the site it would make me feel more comfortable. Also about how long it will take, its really hard for anyone to say. If its less then a dozen like totalXSive said then it probably wont take to long. It all depends how often that editor comes on and reviews sites.
