Strange ... site removed

Until May 29, our site http://www.crete-perfect-home.com was listed for several months in the correct category:
Regional/Europe/Greece/Prefectures/Chania/Kidonia/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate

and we have prints of DMOZ and Google's cached entries).

However it has suddenly been removed, although competitor sites are there - directory searches for our URL or business name "Crete Complete Property" show that it's been completely removed. Our site complies with all DMOZ, Google, Yahoo and MSN guidelines regarding content, and is regarded by clients as one of the most useful sites for Crete real estate. We see no reason why it should have been removed, unless there's been a genuine mistake ... or being cynical, perhaps a new editor has a hidden relationship with one of our competitors.

Could someone please look into this and re-insert urgently?

Thanks.

This is weird

This is weird ... until your posting, directory searches for "Crete Complete Property" and "crete-perfect-home.com" showed *no* entries in the directory, now both queries show the entry. I submitted a report to DMOZ and Google about this, about an hour ago, could they have reinstated so quickly? If so, I'm impressed!

The search database is different than the directory and usually lags behind by a week or so. It's also not the most reliable search. But, that's okay, since it's only and adjunct. We're all about the directory. That's where the data is. That's what our downstream users get.

p.s. We're not Google.

But not showing in Google ...

... (sorry, just dicovered this) ... but the same searches in Google reveal all our competitor entries from DMOZ, without ours. Am I correct in thinking that the Google search will take a couple of days to reindex the results?

Thanks for your info, it's 3am here so I will sleep and look on this forum tomorrow.

Google will probably take longer to include the site in the Google directory -- but that as little to do with the site showing up in searches.

There is really only one good way to see if a site is still there, browse to the category and take alook.

Um, it takes about three days to rebuild the ODP search database, so the answer is a definite: NO, it is literally a physical impossibility.

Just in case you typed in www.crete-perfect-home.com - it won't find that

It will find crete-perfect-home.com

As far as Google - you are not in Google yet. If your site was added to ODP in March, and you allow three months to get into Google - that's why.

The three month is a rough guess, and it's not under our control - it depends on what Google does
