If, when an editor reviews the main site, they think that the site contains valuable unique content they will decide if, when, and where to list those valuable sections. Suggesting the sub sections is not appropriate.
Suggest the main site to the single best category you can locate and forget about it.
(Standard exceptions apply - hosting sites on sub domains for other, independent businesses for example)
