I submitted my new web site 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I am concerned that it could be misconstrued as SPAM. I submitted more than once because I wasn't sure if my first submission was received....a confirmation page did not come up. I don't remember having any trouble submitting my first site, but I am wondering if there could be a problem because I used the same email address? I know that you work on a volunteer basis and think you are all doing a wonderful job by the way!

My Dad has been submitting my site www.milebymile.com monthly for the past year, now he says he thinks he might have been labelled a spammer since nothing new is being accepted. We have a page for each state and he was putting them to the correct category. He has a good heart in trying to help but has he screwed things up?

Well... since http://www.emilebymile.com/ is already listed in Recreation/Roads_and_Highways, there's absolulety no chance you'll be able to get that mirror listed. Same for the deeplinks: none will be listed. Thanks for telling your family they're only creating unnecessary work for the editors who have to delete the submissions :smirk:

If your dad is that interested, maybe he would consider applying to be an editor. :) (Probably in a small category.)

All you had to do was change the old domain to 301-redirect to the new site, and our automated process would catch it and flag it for our attention.

And/or you could have done an "update URL" on the old URL, indicating the new URL to which it should be changed.

What you did instead was raise all the spam shackles in the house. I've untangled it, I think -- the website's self-definition was, as you say, milebymile.com.

So please let it rest for awhile? No more of the submitting every page to every subcategory? The site is about one and one-half steps away from banning -- the one step being yours, and the one-half step being the misfortune of hitting an editor on a bad-spam day. You can't control the latter, but you can the former.
