We submited our site over 2 years ago and have yet to be listed. Would you be kind enough to proivide me any information that can help us better understand why or when we might be listed.
Please let us know if we can be part of the dmoz community.

Our site is http://www.citycrybs.com

The FAQ explains what can happen after a site is suggested.

There is no way for us to know which volunteer will be the one that reviews the suggestion, nor when that may happen.

Hello Giz,

Thank you for your reply however after such a long awaited period this does not help explain our issue. I can understand that if a site lacks the ability to help navigate a better web it should not be included but we have worked very hard and have built a community that is user friendly. This leads me to question the integrity of the volunteer which is doing his or her job in keeping to their obligations with the directory. Our site meets all of the dmoz guidelines and simply provides a helpful source to finding a home. We would also like to have a home in the dmoz community. Could you recommend anything that may help us in the process while we await approval such as any improvements you believe we should make to our site or when would it best to re-inquire about our status.

Sincerely,

Gea Elika

An editor has NO obligations to submitters. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. An editor has to make one edit every four months to stay registered. Every edit that an editor does is a help to the directory. But you knew that anyway, right?

Maybe it does; and that will be tested when someone reviews the suggestion that was submitted.

>> Could you recommend anything that may help us in the process while we await approval such as any improvements you believe we should make to our site <<

Why make improvements for the directory? Why not make improvements for your visitors? I am not reviewing the site at this time; so I have no suggestions.

>> or when would it best to re-inquire about our status. <<

We no longer do status reports. You knew that from reading the FAQ, right?

Ah, which volunteer, and what job, and what obligations?

There is no volunteer, anywhere, who has a job that obliges him (or her) to review any particular site. So there is nobody whose integrity you need question, let alone impugn.

Please do not re-inquire--we tried giving submittal statuses, but stopped for many reasons--basically, there was no value to us to give it, and we were told repeatedly that the information wasn't of value to the submitters either.
