How long could a category likely go without an editor? I had submitted a non-profit job site to a very small local category quite some time ago with no luck; just really hope that it gets listed, as I feel the site offers a real value to our community.

Rather than give you a custom answer to a question that has been asked hundreds of times before, I'll suggest that you take a few moments and read out FAQ which specifically addresses your question and several others that are related and likely to pop up.

The other option, if you feel strongly that Columbus, Ohio needs more editing resources devoted to it, is to apply to become an editor yourself. You're obviously familiar with the concept of non-profit making community projects - you might fit in well with the DMOZ concept.
