This is a bit of a strange one .. this category recently admitted a few new sites .. and then suddenly reverted back to the June 4 version of the index. My site was neither of these two new ones unfortunately, but it was interesting nonetheless. Would be interested to know what is happening in this category.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

That Fat Tony guy looks pretty mean, what with that Thomson and all. You probably don't want to be anywhere close when he finds your copy of his blackjack odds page.

But that's not our problem. Our problem is that we prefer to list sites with unique content.

The entire directory is showing data from a few weeks ago right now. The reason is an ongoing, major hardware upgrade; as soon as everything is moved and the new servers are running (which we hope will be around July 20) the most current version of the data base will be displayed again.

I have rectified the problem. My question is, do I re-submit this site or ? I don't want to swamp the editors in this category, as I already submitted this site twice, and until this thread didn't know why the site was being rejected.

I contracted somebody to help me write some of the content on the site, and until this thread was posted, had no idea that they had just copied and pasted from another site. It was quite embarassing. I scrapped entirely all of the offending content, and wrote my own to replace it. All of the artwork, articles and programming on the site is original, and I am hoping that this one thing doesn't leave a black mark on my site and prevent me from getting accepted, as I've done a ton of work on this site.

Also, I wrote a letter of apology to the site that the content was lifted from, immediately upon finding out about it.

I am hoping that I have adequately addressed the problem, and am just wondering whether to re-submit the site or whether someone can take another look at it. Regards,

Dave

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you.

I'm not at all competent to judge the quality or listability of the site, but I do see that the copied content is gone from a random sampling of the subpages.

I'd suggest submitting again. I further suggest a bracketed comment at the end of the description to the effect that the content is totally changed from when it was last submitted.
