Just curious to see where I stand for adding this site. The report logs show an editor has visited, but for what ever reason, it was not added. This is a site for two realtors in town and gives people the ability to search houses in the colorado springs area. Please let me know if I did something wrong when submitting this one, but it seems like a normal site that would be included in the directory.

The website again is: http://www.colorado-springs-real-estate-connection.com

The DMOZ subcategory is here http://www.dmoz.com/Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/

Thanks,
Chris

I would be careful though. I would have thought twice about it - to get any property listings (the purpose of the site after all) you have to provide some personal details and most editors would not bother if a guest login is not supplied - they would simply leave it to languish forever. It seems superfluous anyway because you can get all the listings from the other site from your agency listed in the same category. Real estate sites that want my email address, forget it!

Unfortunately - every Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has their own rules as to who can see the data. The Colorado Springs service - who provides the data feed - requires sites to require some form of login before the information can be displayed. This does allow a site to mask certain info like the street address of the house, but is very limiting. Some MLS divsions will require the listing agent phone number to be displayed as well as your number, but some have no restrictions at all. The registration screen is required under the terms of receiving the data feed unfortunatly. The traffic logs back you up on that, so many users do leave to search elsewhere only to find the same issue. We are developing a solution that should please both camps though and will display x number of free listings and then force a registration after that number is shown. The MLS board is happy with the registration, the visitor does get to view some listings before giving up info, and the realtor gets traffic that stays around. We are just trying to find a way to work within the existing rules of the MLS board. Thank you again!
