I think you must have misunderstood. In this forum we have time limits on when status requests can be made. That has nothing to do with the scheduling of reviews at dmoz.org itself. (The actual situation, of course, is that we do NOT schedule reviews at dmoz.org. We simply review ... or we do not.)

On the one hand, it's far far too early to worry about being rejected.

On the other hand, in the short term, not being accepted has the same practical effect.

If you need site promotion in the short term, we always (yes, always!) recommend looking elsewhere in the meantime.
