Submission Status: jackpotcitycasino.com

Thank you. I've had a look and the only thing I can think it was rejected for was perhaps the redirect that takes place for our tracking.
Once rejected is there a process to follow to then resubmit? We are currently working on a new tracking system that won't make use of the redirect.

If it's not the redirect, please could you help me figure out what it is, as I can't think of anything else.

Thanks very much,
A

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the response. I'm struggling to understand what it is that's getting me rejected though as my site does not break any of the three rules you mentioned.

Mirrors: We have another, very very similar site on a seperate URL and specifically did not submit both because the content is too similar.
Doorways: ?
Affiliates: Not an affiliate either.

Could you perhaps point me to your definitions of the above so that I can be sure?

Thanks very much

Besides having a mirror at jackpotcity.com, gamingclub.com is already listed. Your site obviously can't be listed.

Hi Steve,

it's been a while since you've responded so apologies for the delay. we've been working on optimizing our sites correctly, and I just checked on our rankings and status' again.

i have two problems: the first is that jackpotcitycasino.com and gamingclub.com are not mirror sites or even similar sites at all. they are two completely seperate businesses run completely independantly. there is however a mirror of jackpotcitycasino.com at jackpotcity.com but have never submitted the latter url. I only want one of them listed. What do I need to change to meet the criteria?

now my second problem. jackpotcity has now dropped completely off google, after ranking 14th. there one day, gone the next. we use no illegal or strange tactics but i fear that it's linked to my rejection from dmoz.

please let me know what i need to do to list one of my urls?

thanks very much

A partial answer for you, since I am not particularly familiar with gambling sites and how they are listed in the ODP.

Rejection of an unreviewed site from the ODP is not logged anywhere in any files which Google could get at. The only place that can be seen is in internal editor logs. Therefore, if I were you, I would look elsewhere for your Google issues.

Hope this helps.

To the best of my knowledge, Google has no access to ODP rejections, has never had access, and has never asked for access.

If you'll think about it a moment, you'll realize why it wouldn't do them any good to have that information. We reject submittals for a variety of reasons -- for instance, unnecessary deeplinks or unnecessary multiple submittals -- that Google would want not to care about (they'll happily spider every page of a website, whereas for 90+% of websites, we only list one page.)

Now, even if the above weren't true, it would be a conflict of interest for us to care about your Google position, and a violation of our editorial trust to do anything about it. But I said it to explain why, in THIS case we CAN'T either know or do anything about it anyway.

The others have explained the Google stuff, also fyi, lots of commotion going on with Google, you can check other message boards about that.

The fact that jackpotcity and gamingclub are not mirrors isn't important, or even if they have seperate accounting or something that we can't know about. We'll list one of an affiliated family of casinos, for example, only one of the Fortune Lounge group is listed. We want to list quality, unique content websites and have no way of knowing the inner workings of some corporate entity.
