Hi Motsa,

I spent a lot of time trying to select the right category for this. I don't consider an Ostomy a digestive disorder, that's why I didn't post to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Digestive_Disorders/

The other two possible relevant categories are:
http://dmoz.org/Business/Healthcare/Products_and_Services/Wound_Care/
and
http://dmoz.org/Business/Healthcare/Products_and_Services/Suppliers/Home_Care_Supplies/

The reason I posted to http://dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Digestive_Disorders/Intestinal/Ostomies/ was that another ostomy supplier "Zassi Medical" posted there and it seemed like the best fit for the ostomy user browsing the directory.

Maybe there should be another category under the category you suggested (Digestive Disorders) called Ostomies.

So what happens now? Does my site get rejected?

And yet you submitted it to the Digestive Disorders subcategory in Health. Either you consider it a digestive disorder or you don't. We do, for the purposes of classification. You are selling an ostomony item to the public at large online which makes Shopping/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Digestive_Disorders the right category for your site...not somewhere under http://dmoz.org/Health and not somewhere under http://dmoz.org/Business (it definitely does not belong under Business/../Wound_Care as the product has nothing to do with Wound Care but instead is a product for disposing of ostomy bags).

Hopefully it won't languish for too long waiting under that incorrect Business category before someone moves it to wait in the right category.

Actually, I thought about your comments the other day, and don't mind the category you suggested at all for http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Digestive_Disorders/

But it looks like somebody moved my submission here.
http://dmoz.org/Business/Healthcare/Products_and_Services/Wound_Care/

This is really the right category, but the problem is this:

The leading authority in the U.S. on both Ostomy & Wound Care, the WOCN http://wocn.org/ has combined the categories of "Ostomy & Wound Care." All nurses in this field handle both. The Ostomy manufacturers also list their products as "Ostomy & Wound Care." The category "Wound Care" should really be "Ostomy & Wound Care." The DMOZ has not updated this subcategory to reflect changes in the real world.

The 2 largest Ostomy Product manufacturers in the world, ConvaTec and Hollister are already listed under "Wound Care." Two of the others are listed elsewhere under "Home Care Supplies" probably because of the confusion in the categories. They are NOT home care suppliers.

Maybe you could forward this to the right person so they could check with the WOCN and confirm what I'm saying. I don't know if it's technically feasible to change a category name, but if it can be done it should be.

Just my thoughts to make the DMOZ a better directory.
