I saw in my site's log files that dmoz editor(s) visited my site from their personal editor page at least three times. This happened yesterday. Did they approve it or reject it?

My site's url is http://www.rock-climbing-guide.com

Thank you

It would have been nice if you would have read the Forum Guidelines (marked "READ BEFORE POSTING" at the top of this forum), and supplied a clickable link to the ODP category where you submitted. Here it is: http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Climbing/Rock_Climbing .

Hits in logs indicating visits from editors can mean a lot of things -- they don't necessarily mean a site was reviewed. However, in this case, your site was judged to have insufficient content for a listing separate from http://backcountrystore.com/ , so it was not accepted.

You are right about not posting the category although I have read the guidelines. It's the common mistake when a thing you have to do is so simple and you forget it. This is not to argue but there is no content taken from backcountrystore and only two links on the site linking to it. Also the content is unique. The site is new and soon I will put a form and receive articles from rockclimbers. Do you think that with e.g. 100 more pages my site will have a better chance of getting into dmoz?

Thank you

I didn't say that the site had duplicative content -- I realize that it doesn't share content with the store's site. What I said was that it was judged to have insufficient informational content to warrant a separate listing from your store.

It is certainly possible that with additional useful content, the decision will change. However, you should know that in cases like these, where content is being used to drive readers to another site, the standards for usefulness are quite high. We generally don't list these types of sites unless the unique content is outstanding, since we consider them to be the same as deeplinks of an existing site, and our standard for deeplinks is that they should be the "exception, rather than the rule". Yes, I know you can't get there easily from your store, but breaking the navigation of your store's site was your decision, and not our concern.
