I've submitted this site about 3 weeks ago to the Chicago Real Estate category. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I've been rejected, in the queue or no where to be found.

If I was rejected, could anyone explain why.

It was rejected as being a lead finder with content taken from http://www.virtualchicagoland.com and therefore not unique. If it makes you feel any better, it was described as "awesome looking."

It would have been be a lot easier if you followed posting rules, which say:

"In the body of your post, include a clickable link to the category you submitted to. The simplest way to do this is to copy and paste the category you submitted to (i.e. http://dmoz.org/....)."

Ok, thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to write my own stuff from now on.

If I write my own stuff will it be accepted upon resubmittal, or is there something else wrong with it?

The ODP simply looks for content. More about what to list and what not to list in the section Include and the next sexction in our guidelines.
