Dear Editors,

I have submitted http://www.baviera-accommodation.com to http://directory.google.com/Top/Sports/Golf/Travel/Europe/Spain/ about 4 months ago. To date there has been no inclusion or response. Should I re-submit or continue to wait?

We aren't Google but I imagine you meant http://dmoz.org/Sports/Golf/Travel/Europe/Spain/ .

Actually, now i'm confused. Is the Google directory a different directory, or is it taken from DMOZ. I'm sure I submitted my site from the google pages,and all the links on those point back to DMOZ.

Am I going mad?

You answered a post for me in another forum regarding becoming an editor. I don't want to edit for Google for nothing, but for the DMOZ it seems to be a worthwhile thing to do.

Google are one of many 'downstream' data users. In other words they download a copy of our data, under license, and incorporate it into their own site.

The apply to become an editor links you see within the directory that Google display at http://directory.google.com/ are to apply for the ODP equivalent category and not actually edit in the Google directory.

Jim,

The guidelines request waiting for a month, before asking. It has been over 4 months. I have only ever submitted the site once. Therefore I would have thought that it was not premature to ask.

The site is waiting there for review.

We don't know how long it will take, but you can easily Google to get an estimate of how many other sites are jostling to be reviewed in the same category.
