From what I can tell, its usually 4 weeks - give or take, so seeing as it was submitted in early december, it should be coming up soon, right?

Where on earth did you get that figure? I am sure there are plenty of editors who would like to debunk myths regarding any "typical" time until review. The time can be a negative number to virtually infinite.

I am getting confused.
It was typically 4 weeks to ask on this board if your site has been reviewed.

I guess my question should be, is this the best way to check to see if my site has been accepted or is there any other sources I can go to?

I am a completely newbie to this I am afraid to say and just want to make sure I am doing everything right to get my site submitted.

Oh, sorry! The time you're asked to wait here (and it is 1 month, not 4 weeks!) has nothing to do with the time until a given site is reviewed. This forum is just a small portion of editors, and unofficial. You must see that we cannot tie reviews to requests here. That would lead to chaos.

This is the only way I know of for a non-editor to know for sure that a site is rejected, or for sure that it is waiting to be reviewed. Forum rules say you are welcome to check back in this same thread in 6 months if the site isn't listed by then.
