It's a very small group of sites waiting in Quad_Cities. Sites aren't necessarily reviewed in order, however, so no one is really "ahead of you". And, of course, we can't predict time-to-list. Check back in a couple months if you like.

Incidentally, if the site is listed, my guess is that it would be in the Travel_and_Tourism subcat, though the editor reviewing the site will make that determination -- no need to resubmit.

Apparently the site has been viewed by an editor. Although, it has not appeared in the directory yet. I was wondering if there is a problem with our site. Any tips you can give would be helpful.

Just because an editor has looked at it, it does not mean it has been reviewed. As it is, it is still waiting.

The way the ODP editing software works, one of the easiest ways to get a status of a URL is to pretend to "add" it to some category using the editor's dashboard. That automatically accesses the site (to grab its title and opening sentence for the editor's convenience). It does not actually display the page or any other portion of it. Some editors may additionlly look briefly at the site, but typically without intent to review -- we work very hard to make SURE that people DON'T get the impression this forum is a way to request site reviews.

So you asked for a status. Someone probably did the above, triggering a site access. You shouldn't suppose that any editor looked at the site, let alone reviewed it: this is an alternative reason (highly plausible under the circumstances) for a hit with referer=dmoz.org.

Unfortunately, metro area categories in Illinois tend to accumulate sites that should have been submitted to a particular locality/city instead.

I viewed your site briefly while sorting unappropriate submissions to correct categories for review. While I can't tell you how long it will be before your site is reviewed, the good news is that the sorting reduced the number of sites waiting in the main Quad Cities category to two, including your own.

Thank you for your input Melody. I am also an editor at DMOZ in a completely different category. So, I do understand how busy everyone here at DMOZ is. Maybe I should have placed this site in Travel/Tourism. But, after reviewing the sites in the main cat and the subcat Travel/Tourism I felt we fit in the main cat best. Hopefully an editall will come upon our site and OK our submission soon.

Note: Would someone let me know if our site gets dropped from the current que. I will then re-submit to the Travel/Tourism subcat.

If you are an editor, why not put the site in your editor bookmarks and then you can follow its status yourself?
