I'm wondering, too - because I can't answer your question without knowing the category that your site was submitted to.
However, I can see that http://www.hudsonwholesale.com/ is waiting for review in Business: Consumer Goods and Services: Clothing: Women's: Wholesale and Distribution.

Sorry, but I've lost my crystal ball, so I can't predict when it will have its own editor.
No category is abondoned. There are editors of parent categories who can edit down there, and there are "editall" editors, who can edit pretty much everywhere. However it is unpredictable when one of them will come to that category and to your submission.
Generally, Regional categories are less backlogged. You have a physical location in Hackensack, NJ, so you might be listed in Regional: North America: United States: New Jersey: Localities: H: Hackensack: Business and Economy in addition to the topical listing you are waiting for. Feel free to submit your site to this local category.

Thank you for you time Robert. Do you know if dmoz will be expanding the categories regionally in the near future. Wholesale and/or clothing does not have a category regionally. Moreover, I do ship internationally where a regional listing mathinder more than help.

We expand categories when there are sufficient relvant sites to warrant the creation of a new cat.
Regional is all about where you are, not where you market, where you ship, or where your customers hang out.
Topical is about what you do.
This is why we had you made the additional suggestion to REgional. Consideration of that listing has no impact on the topical submission.
