I have tried to get http://www.mybigfatmortgage listed for years. So I moved the site to http://www.mybiweeklymortgagepayment.com and submitted it hoping the change in the url would increase my chances of getting listed.

I am trying to the site listed at http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Mortgages/Regional/United_States/

I have carefully followed the submission instructions. The site is about a mortgage reduction service that is legit and has been offered since 1995.

Is it up to the individual editor to decide whether the site is listed or is the criteria listed on the submission page the desiding factor? Any tips on what an editor might look for or like?

If the site is not listed after a month, does it hurt to change the description and resubmit?

I listed the url's so you could see the change and possible you might take a quick glance at the second to see if anything is hurting the submission.

Just the oposite. By suggesting the site under 2 urls you decreased the change of being listed. Atleast the review proces will take more time.

First read our FAQ.

Then. If you want to know the status ask for it in the proper place in the proper way. See the forum guidelines (linked from my signature).
