submissions that are considered spam

Several weeks ago I submitted my site www.biotechconsultants.org to the category of:

Business: Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals: Consulting

However, a few weeks later I noticed that perhaps this was not the best place (despite the title of my website), since the description listed for that category stated: "Submit sites that give advice on whether a new discovery is novel, patent searches and intellectual property transfer"

Strictly speaking I do not offer any of these services, I advise investors as to whether a biotech firm is a sound investment or not by researching the company and its products.

Therefore, I tried to contact the editor of the original category relating to my mistake, but he did not respond, thus I decided (perhaps stupidly) to resubmit to a more relevant category:

Business: Business Services: Consulting: Research Services

Now I am worried I may have commited the dreaded action of spam and have forced my submission application further down some long queue. Am I likely to be blacklisted or punished for resubmitting despite it being to a more relevant category?

No. We expect site suggesters to make mistakes and we tolerate them.

thanks for the reassurance!!! I will sit tight and not resubmit again and hope for the best. Although, I am still a little worried that I have chosen the right category now, it was difficult to find something between biotech and investment advice as my site didnt seem to exactly fit in either.

Do not worry about it at all. If the editor reviewing you site concludes that it belongs some where else in DMOZ, it will be sent there. You have done all you could by suggesting it. Focus your energies on promoting it through numerous other venues available to you.

thanks for the extra encouragement. my impression is that getting into ODP is very important to establish a good web presence. i will certainly focus in promoting my site in other places now and wait to see what happens...
