Submit to more than 1 category

Hi,
I submitted our site to a category a few months ago and am still told that there is a back log of 100's of sites and that I should check back in a few months. Seeing that it could possibly take 1 year for the site to be reviewed, would it be ok to submit it to a similar category now?

No, as the editor who reviews your submission in the "new" category will just move it back to the end of the queue in the original category.

Submit to the one best category only.

However, if the site represents a business and has a physical storefront you can also submit to one category in the /Regional tree too.
