Submit using pseudo only?

Hi,

At my site that contains samples of my work, I use just "Mack" to invite myself. I also use this pseudo in different places.

The category I would like to submit to (Arts: Illustration: Illustrator Portfolios) only provides the means to submit with either company name (and my site is private!) OR full name. I just want to use my pseudo.

What should I do? Can I submit with pseudo only or will I be banned? The other guys use their full names, but my pseudo is just more natural to me, as the address is notmyhome.com/mack

What are the recommendations on that?

I don't edit in that category, but I think I'd allow the pseudonym if I did.

Of course, that might be one of the reasons I don't edit in that category. :D

As you're already aware, the category charter says
For individual illustrators, please word your website title as Last Name, First Name (Example: Jones, Rachel) and submit to the letter of the alphabar that represents the first letter of your last name.
I don't work in Arts, but I'd be surprised if the editors there permitted deviation from rules aimed at making an easy to use directory.

Thank you both, guys.

not that I don't like my name, but I'll probably wait until I launch the other website with my company's name, less trouble with ODP and I have time--

it will take TIME to get in there, anyway :)

I edit in Arts, but not in Illustration. Since only the pseudonym is used on the site, I think it would be allowed. In music we use "Sting" and "Lil' Kim" rather than their real names, so I don't see why an illustrator would be different. If you sign your work "Mack", I think listing your site with that name should be OK. But again, I don't edit in that category, so I can't say for sure.

ETA: I say submit it with the name as you prefer. The worst that can happen is the site will be rejected because your real name is nowhere to be found. You can then resubmit when you have a company name, or decide to use your given name.

Good point, from someone from behind the courtain. Thanks.
In fact, I'll probably still wait, while I doubt I will ever want to re-launch this site under company name--I wouldn't feel comfortable putting on a new, stiffer "corporate" collar :D --while on my less-official site I can do whatever I want and I don't have to be so NEAT--would you agree ? ;)

last but not least--I will be more motivated to build the official stuff :money: ;)
