Hey,

I have submitted an application to become an editor a week ago, and I did not get any response.
Is it a bug or should it take longer than that...?

Thank you,
Moshe.

Did you recieve an email that asked you to confirm your application?
If no. Than you need to check your spambox and reply to the email
If yes. Did you reply to that email?
If no. We can only process applications after the reply has been recieved by us.
If yes. After we received the reply the application will be looked at. Normaly that will take between a few days and a few weeks. More info can be found in the FAQ (link at the top of this page)

After Recieving The Confirmation Email

Dear all,

I applied for an editor's position at Kids & Teens \ Games \ Online or Kids & Teens \ Games \ Online \ Collections a few weeks ago.
I received a confirmation email, but nothing else since then.
Shouldn't I recieve an email in case my application was denied...? or perhaps it is still waiting to be reviewed...? In any case, I think I can help with other categories of the Kids & Teens as well.

Best Regards,
Moshe.

An email is send when the application is processed. The email will either tell you that you were accepted as an editor or it will tell you which things need improvement in the next application.
There is an application waiting that most probably is yours.

BTW it would have been helpfull if you kept all postings about your application in 1 thread

I've merged your threads. By the way, when you're asking about the status of your application, it really, really helps us if you follow the instructions and give us the information asked for in the Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING thread in this forum, as mentioned earlier.

Hey to all,

As advised by a DMOZ editor, I tried to contact one of the Kids & Teens editors two weeks ago and never got any response.
Should I keep waiting, try to contact another editor, or perhaps take it as a denial of my application...?

I have to admit I am pretty much confused about this project.
Instead of rejecting / approving editors applications faster, so that there will be many more volunteers, this process seems to take a very very long time.
I filed my application more than a month ago. There were so many hours I could have invested in this project until now, and now I have my final exams starting next week.

Thank you,
Moshe.

There is no reason to contact an editor. Not about a website and certrainly not about an editor application. Editors are advised not to respond to such questions. Previous experiences have learnt us not to get into such discussions.

On May 29th I told you the application was waiting review.
Please wait a minimum of 14 days between asking for a status.
Applications are reviewed by volunteers and take as much time as needed.
We are not looking for quick gains but for long time improvements. Quality before quantity.
