Submitted site several months ago - why doesn't it show up?

Hello! I don't know if I'm posting this in the correct place, but I couldn't find a "contact us" anywhere on this site so I thought I would try here.

I thought I had listed my site on the dmoz directory several months ago, but when I search the directory, it doesn't show up. How can I find out if I did submit it, if there was a problem with my submission or if it's ok to submit it again? I don't see any reason why it would have been rejected if I did submit it so I'm stumped as to where to go from here??

What we should be prepare with before submitting our site for review? I am asking about content, site structure etc.

We don't care about site structure so long as it isn't actively user hostile.
We do care about unique and useful content.
