I have a problem. I submitted our site around 6 weeks ago but since found a better category for it. I quite fancy becoming an editor which would presumably help to get the as yet unlisted site listed (I believe it's worthy) but it seems a bit chicken or egg - I wouldn't have heaps of time. I also wondered whether the '/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Printing/Labels' category (our preferred category) already has an editor but have not been able to establish it either way. Should I re-apply for a listing first and if I didn't, would I be able to approve it if I were the/an editor for our preferred category?

Many Thanks.

First, when an editor looks at the suggested sites, he/she will decide where that site fits best, and move it there, so no worries if the site is not in the best category. Suggesting one more time, to a better category would be alright for you to do. Next, DMOZ welcomes new editors, even if you are only able to edit occasionally. (There is a four month span when an editor needs to edit at least once, or they will be deactivated. Then a Reinstatement Request would be required.) Further, there are a great many higher level editors, who can edit anywhere in the Directory, so that even if there is no editor name shown, there are editors who are able to edit there.
