Submitting site with wrong Name

Hello

Sorry for this dumb questions but wanted to make sure I did the right thing.

I had submitted my site http:www.boatcarpetbuys.com for inclusion in the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Vehicles/Watercraft/Parts_and_Accessories/Carpet/ category.

I have now submitted it twice within a two weeks period, I just resubmitted it because I felt uncomfortable about the Name of the site. I had originally submitted it with a name "Marine Carpet and Boat Carpet". I felt this was not proper and may cause my site not to get listed so I just resubmitted with the actual domain name which is "BoatCarpetBuys.com"

Did I just blow my chance of getting listed or did I do the right thing.

I expect I'll get an answer saying the last submission is the one the editor will use and if so that would be great....just wanted to check.

A resubmission to the same category will overwrite the first submission.

We'll fix whatever is wrong with a submittal if we can -- URL (redirections we can fix!), Title (company name, no exceptions), Description (ODP guidelines). If you do nothing more than help us find a good site, you've helped -- and we won't cavil. If you help us more than that, we'll be, um, surprised. Yes, that and grateful also.

Suggesting a site with a wrong title or description will never cause the site to be rejected. We are used to the fact that with most suggestions we will have to correct them. The title must be the name of the company, person or website.
If you made the second suggestion in the same category as the first one it will jave overwritten this first suggestion. No prbolem.

Thanks for the replies

Thank you for the replies I appreciate the fast response.

I know that is may take a very long time to list, I was fortunate enough to purchase the domain which was once listed in Dmoz and has a very good ranking in Google :D

What's up with the length of time it can take for certain submissions though? I own several sites and my www.PontoonStuff.com has not been listed yet, we have actually become the largest retailer of the products we handle in the country and I think it's been 6 months since the last submission. I know you guys are swamped but it's a pretty small catagory which I submitted too. How many sites do you folks usually have to go through...I can only imagine it has too be a time consuming nightmare!

Thank you for your help and for this forum!

One pretty small category among almost 600,000 categories. :)

Typically we go through a dozen or three possibilities to find a listable site. Some sources of possibilities are much much worse (submittals to Travel categories, commercial Google search results.) Some are much better (URLs on tradesmen's vans.) Some are much more significant (print.google.com online books) Some are much less significant (Joe Schmoe, junior real estate agent at Century 21 Manhatten #153)

So each editor picks his own priorities based on what topics he thinks are most important, and what techniques are most effective and efficient at finding good sites.

We're not "swamped" -- we're as busy as we want to be, with whatever's most important. But what no editor thinks is important may not receive all the attention someone else thinks it should get -- and so things don't get done as quickly as someone else might like. We know people don't like that. But if I believed there was a better way of doing things -- I'd be off participating with someone who was trying to do it that better way.
