I am hoping that you can advise me as to the status of http://www.vanburenlawfirm.com. It has been submitted earlier than a month ago, but i have received no response. Surprisingly, there are only 9 attorneys listed in the crminal defense tennessee category - none in my area. There are more than nine attorneys all working within a single block of downtown johnson city. This is one of the most underpopulated directories on the net and it seems that the editor has either a corner on the market, a refusal to allow sites to be submitted, or through the product of doing nothing sites don't get listed. All speculation, but it would be nice to know why.

Please see the forum posting guidelines (a post at the top of the forum labeled "read before posting"). You have to tell us where you suggested the url. What http://dmoz.org category. Please. Then we can answer the question of the status of the suggestion. !

As a rule, you will receive no email response as the result of a suggestion.

Thanks.

<added>Oh! I found it! By searching all of unrev in TN. (!!!) Waiting in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...Tennessee/Business_and_Economy/Legal_Services

So your status is "waiting review". N.B. it may probably get moved to http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_Amer...ocalities/J/Johnson_City/Business_and_Economy for further review.

Almost certainly the answer - editors are not paid and so are not obliged to spend their spare time on your or anyone else's marketing activities for free. If and when someone takes an interest in Tennessee lawyers the site will be reviewed (and moved most likely since it was submitted to the wrong category, the one that best fits your marketing no doubt rather than the one that most clearly reflects where precisely you are). I take it you offer free legal services to DMOZ editors and are open to speculation should you not provide those services within the editors' expectations?
