Suggested Site in Wrong Category & Improving a VERY ugly site

I suggested my site about 8 weeks ago.

Two questions:

1) I think I submitted it to the wrong directory - the most appropriate directory is the drinking water one. Would this knock it out of the ranking?

2)I've taken much direction and suggestions and have improved my website dramatically. Thinking back to what the site was like within the first few weeks of submission, I would have not allowed it near a directory, especially the biggest one on the net like dmoz. It's much better now I think.

How do I find out if it was rejected, and how long should I wait before resubmitting it for consideration?

Now, now, now. Knowing that we don't discuss specific sites here, you still ask for his/her URL? Tsk, tsk.

If you initially suggested your site to the wrong category, one more suggestion -- to the right category -- won't be a problem. If you want, you can put a note in square brackets at the end to let the editor who might review your new suggestion know that (a) you're resuggesting it to the right category and (b) that you've greatly improved the site since you first suggested it.

You don't. Basically, if it wasn't a helpful suggestion, it's counterproductive to encourage you to make more suggestions!

If significant content has been added, you could resuggest it immediately. BUT make sure you tell the editor the content has changed, or the resuggestion might get deleted out-of-hand as a duplicate.

I'd recommend including that information in brackets at the end of the new suggested description: something like:

[Site republished October 2008, with new content including blah-blah-blah]

That way, it'll be recognized as not necessarily a duplicate suggestion even though it's the same URL.

I didn't realise that was a rule, I just thought it was not to be suggested for a specific thread where it may make the thread biast or otherwise.

My appologies for my ignorance, it will not happen again.

Please remember, I am still learning.

Thank you very much for your suggestions guys!

I've resubmitted my site as you have explained.

Thank you for your help.
