hello,

we have to suggest a multi language site to dmoz.
the site is in german, french and english and has
3 enter pages ( DE, FR and EN ).

How can we suggest this site?

The index.html is in german and has a language detection script for switching to index-fr.htm or index-en.htm

In dmoz we would need to suggest in the different regions
europe/germany , europe/france and europe/uk .

Could we get please some ideas, how to prepare site site and how to suggest to dmoz, to be listed for the relevant audience ?

so long and thank you

regards

mike

Submit the root URL to the single best topical category within the directory.

Submit the root URL to the single best categories within World/ for the French and German languages.

Be certain that beyond the nightmare of automatic lanugage detection, there is a way for surfers to be able to move to the language of their choice from the root URL.

Some more, general, information about sites in more than one language:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Germany and http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/France only include sites in English relating to Germany and France, respectively. German-language sites go to World/Deutsch and French-language sites to World/Français. (As spectregunner says, a site in both German and English can be listed in both category trees.) Also note that the site can't be machine translated (those sites are good for a laugh but useless for any other purpose) and should be useful to a person who only speaks the language - if only the menu choices are in German and the information on the site is in English, it's not a candidate for World/Deutsch. Similarly if the menu is in English and the information in German, because a German-speaker with no English would not be able to navigate the site.
