The "social contract" promises that DMOZ won't do that. Of course, any of the licensees (Google and AOL are probably the most important ones) CAN do that, if they wish. So far, nobody important has -- which (I presume) means that it's not worthwhile.

Of course, if you want express review, Yahoo will be happy to accommodate you.

This is a very common misconception of why the ODP exists. Unlike many other directory and search engines, ODP is not a service for websites or webmasters. Suggested sites are only that, a suggestion. The ODP is looking to serve the end user of the directory, internet surfers. It is not interested in the promotion of any website. I hope that helps. :)
