Sumbission Issues - Black List?

I have tried to submitt my site <url removed> a couple of times over the last year.

Our company is a material handling conveyor manufacturer that specializes in automatic truck loading systems. I submitted the catagory where our competitor, Paco Corp, shows up.

I have been patient in waiting several weeks to be listed. I have written a inquiry e-mail from the dmoz.org site, but I never got a response. I have read all the submission guidelines and tired to abide by them, but I fear that I might have been added to a black list. Is there such a thing? How can you tell if you site has ever been reviewed? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

There is not a way.

The editors aren't driven by your schedules or priorities, and we don't measure time by suggestion dates, so "several weeks" is meaningless. But many sites wait far longer than that.

It would be a help, though, if you would also suggest the site to the Business&Economy category of the locality where the company is located. Many company sites are eligible for two listings, and although we can't predict which one will be reviewed first, quite often it is the Regional suggestion.

Thanks for the insight

I appreciate the quick response to my question. I guess I will continue to wait for my original submission to be added. I realize that the editors probably have their hands full with numerous requests. I was just trying to make sure that I submitted it properly since I am new to the DMOZ directory.

Thanks for the alternate submission approach using the regional Economy and Business category.

Editors don't really 'have their hands full with requests.' Volunteers have their hands "as full as they wish to fill them," with "whatever they think most needs doing." That may or may not include "suggestions", but it basically never includes "requests."

Certainly, for a qualified volunteer, there's never any shortage of constructive work to do, here or elsewhere.
