Taking over a client project

Hey all :D

I'm taking over a couple of projects for a client of mine, for two URLs that are similar, but serve different purposes.

I have no idea whether the sites have been submitted in the past, but they definitely do not exist in the ODP. They may have been submitted, however - because I have reason to believe that they have. I don't want to just 'wait it out' so to say, I would rather go ahead and take my chances and re-submit.

Should I just re-submit and see what happens, and don't fear penalization if it has been recently submitted?

First, please read our submission guidelines and note both our attitude to related URLs and the penalties which can be applied should they be suggested.

Then, go ahead and suggest just one of them :) .

The odd extra submission isn't a problem. Deliberately suggesting both URLs would be.

Sorry, I was too vague...

I meant that the URLs were definitely different, and the sites are also entirely different. No duplicate content whatsoever.

What I meant by "they are similar" is that they are both information / business directory sites, with business listings (lodging, attractions, shopping etc) and area information - but they are just both for the same local region. :)

They're beautiful sites, wonderfully informational and no spammy, that's why I am worried they have never been submitted. So, (I hope this causes no offense, but I have read the ODP guidelines many times before) I can't heed your suggestion about only submitting one - should I instead suggest them to different categories in the same region?

To be more specific, one is a Chamber of Commerce site and the other is a private business listing site. They both charge for advertising spots, but are different.

Your thoughts are much appreciated! :D

They are "related" sites (VERY closely related sites), within the definition of the submittal policy, since they are related to the same entity (your client) and on the same subject.
