I have submitted our site a few times but not sure I am doing it correctly I tried to send an email to the editor but got no response. Is there some sort of auto response I would recieve to give me the status of my submission?

I hope that this in not considered a stupid question as it is late and I did not do a search on this topic. :)

There is no automated response.

The site suggestion is waiting review by an editor. Thanks.

RE: Status of Http://Mywebwholesaler.com

How long should I wait before I recheck the status of my site? and will I be notified if it is not going to be submitted and why?

At least a month.

And no, there won't be a notification if it's rejected. (Why? It would be a further waste of editor's time on a site already not deemed worth the time already spent on it.)

And no, we normally won't discuss why it's rejected. Having rejected more than several thousand submittals, I can assuredly say that 98+% of the rejected webmasters really didn't care whether they were complying with our guidelines or not. Some obviously didn't bother to read the guidelines. Some read merely to better disguise their lack of compliance. Why whould we tell them which part of their spam stank worse, and help them try to disguise it better next time?

In the few cases where a site might be made listable, sometimes editors will make suggestions in the forum. But our experience confims the common-sense idea that sending e-mail to spammers is pretty close to the stupidest thing you can do on the internet.

You can check site status in this forum. Always wait at least a month after the last submittal (or last status check).

RE: Status of Http://Mywebwholesaler.com

Thank you for your reply. I am not worried about the site being a spammer. I guess I didn't think about it like that.

How long should you wait and assume that your site is not going to be submitted? I am a little confused. Please forgive my ignorance. It just seems with no answer one way or another you could just keep going around in circles.

I have thought about becoming an editor myself but I am afraid that I may not be able to give it the time it deserves, after reading some of the post it sounds like it could keep one quite busy.

Again I say thank you for your reply. Have a nice day :)

Minimum editing requirement for an editor's login to remain active: 1 edit every 4 months.

Here's the best approach:

Submit your site the first time (you have already done that)
Wait a month, then, if not listed, ask about it here (you have done that)
(Optional) Come back here at suggested intervals (in most cases monthly) to get an update.

Once a site has been submitted, it will not disappear - either it will be declined for a listing, or it will appear, either in the suggested category, or another one that reviewing editors determines is a better fit.

Please do NOT resubmit the site - it doesn't help anyone, and only causes more work for you.

Hope this explains things a little better.

Sorry to tell you this, but the wait a month is one of those annoying things that we very strictly follow, you are a trifle early.

RE: Status of Http://Mywebwholesaler.com

You are kidding right? I am one day early .. I apologize but does that one-day really make a big difference. I am going to be busy and will not have time to check in. I originally posted on the 27th that makes today day 30 I didn't think that it was that literal. Should I wait until tomorrow and ask again?

Robyn

actully after going back and looking my orginal thread started on 03-26-2004, 11:22 PM

Do I need to wait until 11:30 and ask again???

I'll run the risk of invoking the wrath of the forum Gods. The site is still waiting to be reviewed.

Another 6 months gone by!

Ok, I have waited another 6 months, actually over 3 years all in all.
So let me ask again, what is the status of mywebwholesaler.com?
Will it be listed sometime in this century or am I at the mercy of one of my competitors? It does seem kind of odd that I have designed many websites and all of which have been listed with no problem in a timely manner but my own. Is one of my competitors holding the key to the category I want to be listed in? If this is the case could I request to be listed in another category? I apologize ahead of time for sounding rude, but something is up in Denmark.
